Vegan Protein Cinnamon Rolls

These are the ultimate healthy vegan cinnamon rolls with an extra boost of protein! Not only are these healthy and delicious, but they are super simple with minimal ingredients, and oil-free!

I am drooling over these just writing this and looking at the picture of these bad boys. This recipe was a total experiment, but it ended up turning out even better than I could have ever imagined! I have always loved cinnamon rolls, they are the perfect baked good to enjoy any time of the day as well as any season of they year. I definitely recommend enjoying these with a friend, because they are dangerously good...I may or may not have eaten them all by myself, shhh. The good news is, is that they are super healthy, therefore a completely guilt free dessert!

These tasty rolls wouldn't be complete without my favorite new product, which is the Plant Fusion Complete Plant Collagen Builder! This product is the first triple action PLANT collagen builder, so like WOW already off to an amazing start. Here are some of the amazing features of this product:

  • Collagen peptides from animals are reported to have high levels of key collagen aminos like proline, hydroxyproline, alanine and glycine. But these aminos are non-essential (produced in the body) and also found in most complete proteins.

  • Skin and joint health IS NOT typically linked to amino deficiency, it’s directly linked to peak functioning of the “builder cells” orfibroblasts in the body that actually form collagen

  • Complete Plant Collagen Builder contains all the aminos in collagen, but goes WAY beyond with five trademarked ingredients backed by science that support the function of the builder cells/fibroblasts

  • Saberry® - from amla fruit boosts collagen precursors and decreases enzymatic breakdown of collagen (MMPs)

  • Ceramosides ® - a natural oil that restores the water barrier and replenishes skin and joints for greater hydration

  • Oxyphyte ® - a highly concentrated antioxidant from white tea that protects against damage to the collagen fiber network

  • FruitX-B® - calcium fructoborate helps mitigate joint discomfort and assists with joint-support

  • Vitashine ® - vegan source of D3 that helps with skin protection and rejuvenation

  • Plus hyaluronic acid – binds collagen with elastin and helps to lubricate skin and joints

Do I need to say more? First off, let me confirm; yes, it is very tasty. I have been so obsessed with this product, and trying to find ways to incorporate it into everything(more is coming don't worry)!

Recipe:

Serves: 4-6

Time: (2hrs for dough) (25-30 minutes baking)

Ingredients:

Dough:

- 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour

- 1 Package Dry Active Yeast

-3/4 Cup plant milk (I used Almond)

-2 Teaspoons Date Syrup ( I am sure you could use maple as well, the yeast just needs sugar, so choose a healthy sweetener instead(not stevia))

Cinnamon Sugar Mix:

- 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon

- 1/4 Cup Date Syrup/Paste

(you may need more depending on how thick you like this layer to be)

Protein Frosting:

-2 Scoops Plant Fusion Complete Plant Collagen Builder

- Splash of plant milk, until desired consistency is reached (coconut milk from the can works phenomenally)

Directions:

  1. Start by heating up your milk so that it's not hot, but warm. Once done, add date syrup, and mix. Sprinkle yeast on top and set aside for 15 Minutes.

  2. Add flour to a large bowl, and add the yeast/milk mixture and combine until you get dough ball, let rise for 2 hours.

  3. Once the dough has risen, preheat your oven to 350 and mix together your cinnamon sugar ingredients. \

  4. Roll out the dough, and spread cinnamon mixture on top until all dough is covered.

  5. Roll your dough into a log, and cut. Place each roll in a sprayed pan, and bake for 25 minutes.

  6. While the rolls are in the oven make the protein frosting. Add your two scoops, and slowly add milk and mix until you get that perfect spreadable consistency.

  7. Once rolls are done, let cool 5 minutes before spreading the protein frosting, then serve, enjoy!
