Vegan Protein Cinnamon Rolls
These are the ultimate healthy vegan cinnamon rolls with an extra boost of protein! Not only are these healthy and delicious, but they are super simple with minimal ingredients, and oil-free!
I am drooling over these just writing this and looking at the picture of these bad boys. This recipe was a total experiment, but it ended up turning out even better than I could have ever imagined! I have always loved cinnamon rolls, they are the perfect baked good to enjoy any time of the day as well as any season of they year. I definitely recommend enjoying these with a friend, because they are dangerously good...I may or may not have eaten them all by myself, shhh. The good news is, is that they are super healthy, therefore a completely guilt free dessert!

Time: (2hrs for dough) (25-30 minutes baking)
- 2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
- 1 Package Dry Active Yeast
-3/4 Cup plant milk (I used Almond)
-2 Teaspoons Date Syrup ( I am sure you could use maple as well, the yeast just needs sugar, so choose a healthy sweetener instead(not stevia))
Cinnamon Sugar Mix:
- 2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
- 1/4 Cup Date Syrup/Paste
(you may need more depending on how thick you like this layer to be)
- Splash of plant milk, until desired consistency is reached (coconut milk from the can works phenomenally)
Start by heating up your milk so that it's not hot, but warm. Once done, add date syrup, and mix. Sprinkle yeast on top and set aside for 15 Minutes.
Add flour to a large bowl, and add the yeast/milk mixture and combine until you get dough ball, let rise for 2 hours.
Once the dough has risen, preheat your oven to 350 and mix together your cinnamon sugar ingredients. \
Roll out the dough, and spread cinnamon mixture on top until all dough is covered.
Roll your dough into a log, and cut. Place each roll in a sprayed pan, and bake for 25 minutes.
While the rolls are in the oven make the protein frosting. Add your two scoops, and slowly add milk and mix until you get that perfect spreadable consistency.
Once rolls are done, let cool 5 minutes before spreading the protein frosting, then serve, enjoy!
