Happy Friday friends! This week honestly feels like it went by in a blink of an eye. I have been experimenting with a lot with recipes from different cultures recently, attempting to diversify my page, and of course learn more. I am always learning new things in the kitchen, and look forward to sharing that with you all. I am kind of at a fork in the road, because I could either go back and refresh some of my old posts, or create more new ones. Since I decided to go with creating new recipes, I wanted to branch out and try making recipes from different cultures around the world. I have always been fascinated by food and how different areas of the world eat. It is amazing how there are foods that are an everyday occurrence in one area of the world, but the rest of the world has never even heard of them! My goal for the rest of 2021 is to add more recipes inspired by other cultures to The All Natural Vegan.
So, what the hell does that have to do with these oats? Well, you see...absolutely nothing. I have been experimenting with other recipes and have not been having a lot of success. I needed to get a recipe up today, so I went with what I know best, PlantFusion oats! I have been sharing a lot of PlantFusion content recently, especially on my Instagram , but that's just because I love it, and I went ham when they had their back to school sale. I also have been focusing on adding more breakfast recipes to The All Natural Vegan that weren't baked oats. As much as I love my baked oats, I can't eat them everyday. Okay, I know this recipe is another oatmeal based recipe, but I have had these steel cut oats in my pantry forever, and I finally created a recipe using them, and I can confirm it was delicious and I have now used up half the container.
Most of my breakfast recipes use PlantFusion protein powder, but that is because I personally get extremely hungry in the mornings, regardless of how much I eat the day before. By adding a quality plant based protein powder to my breakfast, I am full for much longer than I would be without it. I personally only use one scoop instead of two, because my goal is not to build muscle, however if your goal is to build muscle, you can add more scoops which would help you feel satiated for even longer. I talk about PlantFusion all the time, yes I am an ambassador for them, so full transparency, but I would use their products even if I were not.
One of the biggest reasons I love PlantFusion is because they create unique protein blends fit for different goals. They understand that not everyone who uses plant based proteins goal is to build muscle, and that is huge in my opinion. One of the main reasons I use it is for flavor, and for getting in all my nutrients. My all time favorite of their protein blends is the PlantFusion Complete Meal in the Chocolate Caramel flavor. I love this specific protein, because the flavor is insanely delicious, and it is loaded with so many nutrients. It is truly a complete meal. My favorite way to enjoy it is a smoothie bowl with 2 Scoops of the protein powder, 1 frozen banana, and about 1 1/2 cups frozen blueberries(plus some plant based milk). When I say that combo is to die for, I am not exaggerating. I honestly love that protein in everything, but I am not here to discriminate, I love all their flavors!
That is why for this bowl went with their classic (best selling) protein powder: The Complete Protein. They offer this protein in 5 flavors: Vanilla, Rich Chocolate, Natural- No Stevia, Red Velvet, and Cookies and Cream. I recently purchased the Red Velvet, and I am OBSESSED. I simply can not wait to start creating healthy high protein recipes with it. I also wanted to purchase the cookies and cream, but they are currently out of stock. I Messaged them about it, and they will be in stock soon, so no worries! They really do have the best flavored protein in the game, and I can guarantee that their protein has the most nutrients out of any other plant based protein powder! Enough talk, let's get to this healthy protein oatmeal recipe!
Total Time: 35 Minutes
1/2 Cup steel cut oats
2 Scoops PlantFusion Vanilla Complete Protein
1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 Cups plant based milk, I used coconut
Top with vegan yogurt, cinnamon, macadamia nuts, and currants (or any fresh fruit)!
Add oats, PlantFusion protein powder, vanilla extract, and plant based milk to a pot and cook on medium heat for 30 minutes. Make sure to cook on medium not high, because it will boil over.
Once the oats are soft remove from heat and serve warm or chilled with all your favorite toppings, enjoy!
