PB and J Smoothie Bowl

Warmer temperatures means smoothie bowls everyday! This bowl is super easy and delicious. Inspired by the classic childhood meal, this dish satisfies those cravings while filling you up with all healthy ingredients.

Smoothie bowl season is finally here! There really is not another dish on this planet that I crave more than a good smoothie bowl. I don't eat smoothie bowls a lot in the winter, because I am always cold, so why eat something that will make me even colder. However once that first day above 70 hits, and I can enjoy my smoothie bowl in the sun, its smoothie bowls daily from there onward.

Another reason to love smoothie bowls is because the combinations and creations are ENDLESS. I feel like a new smoothie bowl idea pops into my head every week, and I am not mad about it. This idea was a no brainer for me, because my love of the peanut butter and jelly combo goes way back. I used to think of peanut butter and jelly automatically being unhealthy, because the typically ingredients are usually super refined, and loaded with sugars and oils. This smoothie bowl is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. It is made using only plants! It doesn't get better than that.

Now, no smoothie bowl is complete without toppings. I love covering my smoothie bowls with toppings. Up until recently that usually just included fruit, cacao nibs, coconut, and PB, but thanks to a new product I have discover, NUTSÓLA, I can add a healthy alternative to granola to all my smoothie bowls. There products are filled with pure ingredients that come from plants. No refined oil or sugar! I love finding products like this because they help me to fulfill my cravings without eating unhealthy. The particular flavor I used in this bowl was their peanut butter and jelly, and let me tell you, the flavor truly was on point. Be sure to check them out

Like I said, PB is a CLASSIC topping. I honestly eat so much peanut butter I never get sick of it. Also the combinations including peanut butter are truly endless. I mean it can be sweet and savory! I am very particular about my peanut butter however. I really am not a huge fan of salt in my peanut butter, and I will forever wonder why people add oil to peanut butter when it has natural oils. I have such a strong brand loyalty to Crazy Richards 100% peanuts nut butter because of these reasons. When I say that it is truly the only peanut butter I buy, I am not lying. It is also super affordable, so there's really no other option for me! Here's the link to their website:

Alright let's dive into what incredible ingredients are in this smoothie bowl itself. I love smoothie bowls because they are so filling, and this is due to the high amounts of fiber in fruit. Many fruits contain super high amounts of fiber. I talk a lot about fiber here, and that is because it is truly the number 1 way to increase your overall health, and where is the only place to find fiber, PLANTS! With that being said, this smoothie bowl is a great way to increase your fiber intake, while also incorporating more antioxidant rich foods into your diet at the same time, plus it tastes like dessert, and who can be mad about dessert for lunch, am I right? Alright let's get to that recipe!

Total time: 5 Minutes

Serves: 1

- 1 Frozen banana

- 1 Cup frozen mixed berries

- 1/4 Cup oat milk

- (Optional 1 Tablespoon peanut butter powder)

- 1/2 Teaspoon vanilla

  1. Combine all ingredients in blender and blend. (A trick to getting super thick bowls is to add the banana so that it is closest to the blade (Nutribullet would be last, standard blender would be first) and then add as little liquid as possible!)

  2. Top with all your favorite toppings and enjoy!
